Virat Kohli COVID Positive: In a massive breaking news, former India captain Virat Kohli is very much doubtful for the upcoming four-day practice match against Leicestershire starting from 24 June, 2022. Team India has already reached England for the all-important fifth and final rescheduled Test match scheduled to begin from 1 July, 2022 at the Edgbaston in Birmingham. India have a lead of 2-1 in the five-match Test series against England.
According to a report by Times of India, Virat Kohli tested positive for Covid-19 after arriving in London a few days ago. Incidentally, it is understood that Kohli contracted the virus following his return from the holiday in the Maldives and has now reportedly recovered. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also recently posted pictures of the former India Test captain practicing with the rest of the teammates and also shopping in the streets of England.
However, the sources have stated that Virat Kohli might not play the warm-up match against Leicestershire county side starting from 24 June (Friday) at the Grace Road in Leicester.
“Yes, Virat too was hit by Covid after returning from holidaying in the Maldives, but he’s recovered now,” a source was quoted as saying.
“This now means that India’s tour game against Leicestershire from June 24 won’t be as intense as coach Rahul Dravid wanted it to be, since the medical advice is to not overload the players after they’ve suffered Covid-19. There could be more Covid cases in the team,” the source further stated.
