2. Jonny Bairstow vs Kuldeep Yadav
England’s opening batsman Jonny Bairstow looked in a top-notch form in the first IND vs ENG ODI where he played a stupendous innings of 94 runs off only 66 balls that included 7 sixes and 6 fours. Bairstow ripped apart the Indian bowling attack while going all guns blazing in the 1st ODI match. On the other hand, India chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav did not have the best of game as he ended up conceding 68 runs without picking a single wicket. However, Kuldeep has had the wood over Bairstow in ODIs having dismissed him twice in 3 matches.

3. Shikhar Dhawan vs Mark Wood
England speedster Mark Wood has definitely been the best bowler for his team in the ongoing white-ball leg of the India tour. Wood finished with 5 wickets in the T20I series and the also bowled well in the first ODI match picking two vital scalps. India’s senior opener Shikhar Dhawan also came back in form with a remarkable 98-run knock in the first ODI against England. Incidentally, Dhawan was dismissed by Wood in his only T20I game of this England series, but the England pacer is yet to pick the wicket of the Indian opener in 50-over cricket.

India’s middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer has already been ruled out for the remaining two ENG vs IND ODIs due to a dislocated shoulder. There are also concerns over Rohit Sharma’s availability in the second ODI after the opener sustained a blow on his elbow while batting in the first match. Talking about England’s combination, the duo of Eoin Morgan and Sam Billings are also not certain to be part of the playing XI in the second ODI due to some injury concerns.
