KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav out of IND vs SA: In a massive breaking news development, India captain KL Rahul has been ruled out for the upcoming five-match home T20I series against South Africa. The first T20I encounter between hosts India and South Africa is scheduled to be held on 9 June, 2022 (Thursday) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Hosts India are already missing some of their key players in this T20I series like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah.

In a massive blow for the home team, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that skipper KL Rahul will not be available for the entire five-match T20I series against South Africa due to a right groin injury. Also, chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav has been ruled out for the limited-overs series against South Africa after getting hit on his right hand while batting in the net session. In the absence of Rahul, wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant will captain the Indian team for the first time in his international career.

“Team India Captain KL Rahul has been ruled out of the T20I series against South Africa owing to a right groin injury while Kuldeep Yadav will miss out in the T20I series after getting hit on his right hand while batting in the nets last evening,” said the BCCI in its official press release.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant as Captain and Hardik Pandya as vice-captain for the home series against South Africa,” the statement added.
