Virat Kohli Fan in IND vs SL: India is currently taking on Sri Lanka in a day-night Test match at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Rohit Sharma-led team has a lead of 1-0 in the two-match Test series against the Island nation. Former India captain Virat Kohli was born in Delhi but after having represented the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) over the years in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and thus, he gets massive support from the Bengaluru crowd.

On Day 2 of the second Test match between India and Sri Lanka, in a very surprising incident, as many as three fans invaded the pitch at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. After having breached the security officials, three fans actually ran towards the players and one of them even managed to get close to Virat Kohli who was fielding in the slip cordon. Incidentally, the fan took out his mobile and even took a selfie with the 33-year-old Indian cricketer.

However, the security officials instantly rushed towards the players and managed to get control of the situation. India’s vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah mentioned that the security of players is an issue but also did not make a big scene about the fan invading incident.

After an outstanding show during the first Test match in Mohali, Team India have once again had the dominating hand in this ongoing pink ball Test against Sri Lanka. India posted a total of 252 runs on the scoreboard in the first innings as Shreyas Iyer contributed with a fantastic innings of 92 runs while Rishabh Pant too played a fine cameo of 39 runs off 26 balls.

In reply, the visiting Lankan side once again failed to do well with the bat as they folded for just 109 runs in 35.5 overs where Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah registered his maiden Test five-wicket haul at home. The hosts came out with an attacking mindset during the second innings with the bat led by Pant who scored the fastest fifty in Test cricket for India off just 28 balls going past Kapil Dev’s record. Iyer too scored a brilliant 67 runs as India declared their second innings with a score of 303 for 9 while setting a massive fourth innings target of 447 runs for Sri Lanka.

After the end of 13 overs of the fourth innings on Day 3 of the Test, Sri Lanka are 58 for 1 with skipper Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Mendis unbeaten at the crease.
