Ishan Porel made his first-class debut in November 2017 against Vidarbha and scalped 4 wickets to announce his arrival in the domestic stage. Then after few months, he represented Bengal in the List-A cricket as well. Subsequently, he played for the Indian U-19 team in the U-19 World Cup, and took 6 wickets. Since then, he has been a regular part of the India-A teams. In June 2021, he was included in the Indian squad for the final two T20Is against Sri Lanka.
