It has been an entertaining few tournaments/matches, when the former cricketers have come together against each other. It is also useful for raising money or awareness about any cause, with the help of popular cricketers from different countries. For example, the Road Safety World Series tournament aware people about the rules to follow in roads. While some can be for fun as well, like the ongoing Legends League Cricket 2022 in Oman.
In a major announcement, The Legend League Cricket is set to played behind the closed doors. This is due to the rise in covid cases exponentially in Oman. The cases have tripled in a matter of few days and the situation is alarming in the country.
In an official statement, LLC Team said, “Due to the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases and government regulation, we have decided to put a hold on the ticket sales and the matches will be held without the spectators with immediate effect. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.”
“A refund for all tickets purchased will be made. All the ticket holders would be sent information of their refund through their respective ticketing platforms. The amount will be initiated within 7-10 working days,” they concluded.
All the 3 teams, India Maharajas, Asia Lions, and World Giants have won 1 game each in the tournament. The interesting point is that all the matches have been won by the team chasing down the total. This is primarily due to the fact that the grounds are relatively smaller with quick outfield and a belter of a surface in Oman.
The 2nd Round of the tournament will kickstart from 24th January, with Indian Maharajas up against Asia Lions, which is expected to be a close encounter between both the teams having experienced cricketers in their team.
