Most Test hundreds by Indian batsmen in England

The swinging conditions in the England tests the patience and skills of the batsmen. Indian cricket has been blessed with many stalwarts who have proven their worth in the testing conditions and have helped the side to be on the top. Not everyone can smash runs for fun in England but there have been few Indian batsmen who have ruled the opposition even in their own home.

Let’s take a look at  most Test hundreds by Indian batsmen in England

Current Team India head coach and former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid has hit most Test hundreds by Indian batsmen. He has 6 centuries in the country with the high score of 217 runs and has 1376 runs in England. Sachin Tendulkar has 4 centuries in UK with best of 193. He also has scored more than 1500 runs.

Dilip Vengsarkar also has four centuries in England in his tally of 960 runs. Whereas Sourav Ganguly has notched up 3 tons in England with the best of 136 and total tally of 915 runs.

The likes of Sunil Gavaskar, Virat Kohli, Mohammad Azharuddin, KL Rahul, Vijay Merchant, Ravi Shastri have two centuries each to their name in England. Among these stalwarts Gavaskar has scored double hundred while rest has registered the best score of over 125 runs.

16 Indian batsmen have one Test hundreds each in England. These include G Vishwanath, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Kapil Dev, Ravindra Jadeja, Murli Vijay, Rohit Sharma, MH Mankad, Syed Mushtaq Ali, VL Manjrekar, Virender Sehwag, Polly Umrigar, MAK Pataudi, SM Patil.

While the two names might be surprising. Indian bowlers Anil Kumble and Ajit Agarkar are also in the list of Test hundreds by Indian batsmen in England.
