RCB vs KKR IPL Stats : Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 38 runs in the 10th match of Indian Premier League 2021 in Chennai and registered their third consecutive win of this season. On the other side, Kolkata Knight Riders suffered their second loss.
Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and opted to bat first but they started off very poorly as captain Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar got out in the first over off Varun Chakravarthy. Devdutt Padikkal and Glenn Maxwell added 86 runs for the third wicket and brought their team back into the match. Maxwell completed his second consecutive fifty of this season and then Padikkal got out and AB came in. AB de Villiers started off nicely and added 53 runs with Maxwell. In the 17th over Maxwell got out for a well made 78 runs off 49 balls. Then AB de Villiers changed his gears and smashed all Knight Riders bowlers and in the last three overs he and Jamieson scored 56 runs and Royal Challengers Bangalore finished on 204/4 in 20 overs.
In reply Shubman Gill gave a flying start as he scored 20 runs in Jamieson’s over but he got out in the same over. Rahul Tripathi and Nitish Rana too couldn’t convert their starts. In middle overs Dinesh Karthik, Eoin Morgan and Shakib al Hasan struggled to score quick runs and resultant the required run rate was too high when Russell came to bat. He played some big shots but that wasn’t enough and eventually Knight Riders finished on 166/8 in 20 overs and lost the match by 36 runs. For Bangalore Kyle Jamieson took 3 wickets while Harshal Patel and Chahal took 2 wickets each.
