SL vs IND: Predicted IND Playing 11 for ODI Series

IND Playing 11: Sri Lanka is all set to host India for 3 ODIs and as many T20I matches starting with the 50-overs games on 13 July. All the matches of the upcoming white-ball tour will be played at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. With the major white-ball star players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami present with the Test team in England, India has named a second-string 20-member squad for the Sri Lanka that will be led by captain Shikhar Dhawan.

SL vs IND: IND Playing 11 for ODIs

India have picked a total of four openers namely captain Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Devdutt Padikkal and Ruturaj Gaikwad in their squad for the Lanka tour. However, the duo of Dhawan and Shaw are likely to open the batting in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. India’s middle-order will include the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Manish Pandey, one of Ishan Kishan or Sanju Samson alongside Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya as the finishers.

In the first ODI against Sri Lanka on 13 July, India is likely to play the duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Varun Chakravarthy as the specialist spinners. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar will be the two first-choice pacers in the ODIs and a lot will depend on whether Hardik Pandya will be contributing with a few overs or not.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has handed maiden call-ups to Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Nitish Rana and Chetan Sakariya on the basis of their recent performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the domestic circuit. It will be interesting to see how they perform at the big stage when given a chance in the India playing XI.
