Jason Holder DOUBLE Hat-trick: Hosts West Indies sealed the five-match T20I series against England in their favour in an incredible fashion as Jason Holder picked up an outstanding double hat-trick in the final over of the match. The Kieron Pollard-led West Indies team registered an amazing 17-run victory in the series-deciding 5th and final T20I match against England at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

While defending a total of 20 runs in the penultimate 20th over of the fifth T20I match, West Indies pacer Jason Holder held his nerves remarkably well. He first dismissed Chris Jordan off the second delivery of the over and then got the better of the dangerous Sam Billings to almost seal the proceedings for the hosts. Holder removed Adil Rashid on the fourth ball to become the first West Indies player to take a hat-trick in T20Is. The Windies right-arm speedster didn’t stop till then as he even dismissed Saqib Mahmood taking his fourth consecutive wicket in a single over and registered a sensational double hat-trick to take his side over the line.

Jason Holder has now become only the fourth player in the history of the game to take four wickets in four balls in T20Is. Apart from Holder, the remaining three are Lasith Malinga, Curtis Campher and Rashid Khan.

West Indies vs England

After winning the toss and opting to bat first in the fifth T20I game, West Indies posted a challenging total of 179 for 4 in their quota of 20 overs. Windies captain Kieron Pollard smashed a quick-fire unbeaten knock of 41 runs off just 25 balls while Rovman Powell too scored 35 not out off 17 deliveries. For England Adil Rashid and Liam Livingstone picked up two wickets each.

In reply, England never really got the momentum throughout the run-chase as they kept on losing key wickets at regular intervals. With the visiting team struggling at 95 for 4, James Vince contributed with a brilliant innings of 55 runs and Billings smashed 41 runs off 28 balls but Jason Holder’s staggering final over proved be too much for England as they ended up getting bowled out for 162 runs. For West Indies, Holder claimed his maiden five-wicket haul in T20Is while Akeal Hosein also finished with four crucial scalps.
