It was a fine day for the Indian athletes where they have went close to winning the medals. Now the games of Wrestling, Javelin throw, and Hockey are the possibilities for the Indian team to fetch a medal. Today, wrestler Ravi Dahiya managed to win in a thrilling way in wrestling after coming from 2-9 to finally win the match and reaching the semi-finals in the 57 kg. With only 4 days left in 2020 Olympics, and most awaited player to watch out is Bajrang Punia who will soon be in action.

India Olympics Schedule for 5 August, Day 13

A total of 4 sporting events, Golf, Athletics, Wrestling, and Hockey are scheduled for the Indian contingent for 5 August, Day 13. The Indian men’s hockey team will play a bronze medal match, while Vinesh Phogat will look to reach the semi-finals. While, all the eyes will be on Ravi Dahiya and Deepak Punia as they will play for the medal.

India Update for Day 12 at Tokyo Olympics

Lovlina Borgohain of Assam won bronze in the women’s welterweight category after losing 5-0 in the 69kg semi-finals to reigning world champion Busenaz Sürmeneli of Turkey.

Ravi Dahiya then won a sensational freestyle 57kg wrestling match after being down 2-9. Then in the final minute, he rallied back to reach the semifinals. Deepak Punia was eliminated in the Semifinals of 86 kg category and will compete for the bronze medal tomorrow.

Neeraj Chopra attained automatic qualification to finals in the Javelin throw after an impressive performance.

Indian women’s hockey team lost to Argentina 2-1 in the semifinals, and will play the bronze medal match on 6th August against Germany.
