Will Somerville was born at Wadestown, Wellington. At the age of 9, his family moved from Wellington to Sydney. For pursuing his higher studies, he came to New Zealand and made his debut for Otago in domestic cricket in 2005. After completing his studies, Will started his work in Sydney and featured for New South Wales in Sheffield Shield in 2013. Since then, he has been an active cricketer across all the formats.
Will made his T20 debut in 2016 for Sixers, while featured for New South Wales in his List A debut in 2017. His new innings started with Auckland offering a contract in 2018 season. With fine performances in the same season, he made his international debut against Pakistan in December 2018 and picked a total of 7 wickets. In total, he has scalped 15 wickets in 4 test matches.
