The pace-bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been in the limelight since his Mumbai Indians debut in 2013. After pairing up with Malinga, he improved his bowling and soon was called the “Yorker Specialist” by people. In January 2016, he made his limited-overs debut and has never looked back. In his ODI and T20I debut, he picked 2 wickets and 3 wickets respectively. He has been a consistent wicket-taker for the national team. He has terrific test bowling stats after making his debut in 2018. With his help, the Indian team has been able to find success in overseas tours. The Mumbai Indians team has won 4 IPL Titles after his inclusion into the team.
It is being reported that Jasprit Bumrah had asked for leave to BCCI as he is getting married. He can also miss the IND vs ENG ODI series scheduled for the last week of March. “Speaking to ANI, sources in the BCCI in the know of developments have confirmed that the pacer is set to get married soon and has taken a leave to prepare for the same,” ANI reported. “He informed the BCCI that he is getting married and has taken the leave to help in preparations for the big day,” the source was quoted as saying.
As the ODI series is slowly losing its importance, the players have been careful of working on the load management. The T20 leagues have become popular all around the world. As the T20 World Cup is scheduled for two consecutive years in 2021 and 2022, it has become very important for players to maintain match fitness and get a proper match -practice before the main tournament arrives.
The players like Rishabh Pant and Washington Sundar had not been included in the IND vs ENG T20I series squad. In place of them, Ishan Kishan and Rahul Tewatia got a national-call up. It is being said that both the players will be rested for the ODI series as well, along with Rohit Sharma who has also been playing continuous cricket since he arrived and played in Australia earlier this year. The bowler, Jasprit Bumrah is most likely to be rested in the ODI series as he has purposely asked for the leave.
