MI Playing 11 2024: Mumbai Indians Player List, Players Bought at IPL Auction 2024

Mumbai Indians were not among the busiest sides in the 2024 auction. Having acquired Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans in a headline-grabbing trade last month, while letting go of all-rounder Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai seemingly looked like a settled squad, with only a few holes to plug.

The franchise has announced Hardik Pandya as their captain. It is the legacy of five-time IPL Champion captain Rohit Sharma that Hardik will follow. Although the franchise had a gaping hole in their squad, the team’s playing XI was still an extremely strong one.

With an immensely strong Indian batting lineup, they were in a clinical business to make a team for the future. In this year’s Auction, Mumbai could buy a maximum of 8 Players (4 overseas players) in their Squad for Rs.17.75 crores. They have added 4 overseas players to their squad.

While three overseas (i.e. Tim David, Jason Behrendorff and Romario Shepherd) almost cemented their places in the playing XI, they needed a specialist foreign leg spinner in their squad. But they went for Mohammad Nabi. Additionally, the champion franchise needed an opener for the future aspect. There are now some young Indian Talents. Now they have a stronger squad to run into the upcoming season as Gerald Coetzee joins the squad.
