The price tag often play a crucial role in the assessment of the players for their
performances. Over the years, the IPL Auction has been an exciting and nervous affair for the players going under the hammer. Few of the times, a quality player is bought at a bargain, while inconsistent players being bought for a high price.

1. Chris Morris
The all rounder from South Africa attracted many franchises in IPL 2021 Auction due to his proven track record in both departments. Chris Morris was bought for an amount of 16.25 Crores by Rajasthan Royals. He did well with the ball by picking up 15 wickets in 11 matches, but was not reliable with the bat.

2. Yuvraj Singh
One of the finest white ball players in the history of World Cricket, Yuvraj Singh earned a 16 Crore Contract from Delhi Daredevils franchise in the IPL 2015 Auction. He ended up scoring 248 runs in 13 innings, and was not upto the mark with his performance. But, did well for the Sunrisers in the next 2 seasons by scoring 488 runs in 22 appearances.
3. Pat Cummins
The Australian test captain and the fast bowler, Pat Cummins has certainly been of the best performing bowlers for the last few years. He was the most expensive buy in IPL 2020 Auction, and was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for a salary of 15.5 Crores. He has picked up 21 wickets and garnered 239 runs for the KKR team in 21 matches.

4. Ishan Kishan
The wicket keeper batsman was the costliest buy in the IPL 2022 Auction. The Mumbai Indians retained the services of Ishan Kishan for an hefty amount of 15.25 Crores. But, Ishan has been a prolific run scorer for the Mumbai Indians team since 2018 and has scored 1452 runs in 61 matches.
5. Kyle Jamieson
The New Zealand fast bowler was terrific in the home test series in the 2021 season, and sparked interest among the franchises after doing well against India ahead of the IPL Auction. The RCB franchise shed out 15 Crores for buying Kyle Jamieson. But, he was rather average with 9 wickets in 9 matches for the team.
