South Africa Playing 11: South Africa face a stern test at home, as they welcome the number one ranked side in Test cricket for a three-match Test series. South Africa defeated the visitors by a score-line of 2-1 when India last toured the Proteas in 2017/18. South Africa have named a strong squad for the Test series against India, which also features a bunch of new names. Their bowling attack will be the one to look out for given the likes of Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi.
Dean Elgar and Aiden Markram will continue to open the batting for the hosts. Rassie van der Dussen will provide the stability to his side coming in at number three. Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock will bat in the middle order for the Proteas to complete a well-balanced batting lineup.
Keshav Maharaj is expected to be the sole spinner for the Proteas. Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada are almost certain to be picked for the first Test match, barring an injury. The third pacer could be a toss up between Lungi Ngidi and Duanne Olivier.
