Lasith started his career in 2017 for Nondescripts in the domestic cricket. He has been terrific in the first class cricket, and has 192 wickets in 39 matches. He has played only 11 List A matches.

In the international circuit, Lasith Embuldeniya made his test debut against South Africa in January 2017. He picked 6 wickets in the match, including a 5 wicket haul in the 2nd innings, and managed to go run through the batters like Quinton De Kock and Temba Bavuma. His best match figures of 10/210 came in January 2021 against England, and dismissing players like Jos Buttler and Jonny Bairstow.
