The 2024 season will be about repeating the success of 2023. Only once have CSK managed to defend their title, in 2011. They needed a definite replacement for the former star Ambatai Rayudu.
The batting & spin department of the core playing XI looks so strong and convincing. They needed a contingent upgrade in their all-rounder options.

The defending champions released some expensive picks like Ben Stokes and Ambadi Rayudu. They could fill up 6 players (3 overseas players) with a huge purse of 32.7 crore.
