Who won today’s IPL match: The second match of the IPL 2022 took place at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. As many as 13 players made their debut for the respective franchise and put on an incredible show to entertain fans. It was an exhibition of runs as both the teams went neck to neck but in the end Delhi Capitals staged sensational comeback to win the match from the jaws of defeat.

Asked to bat first, Mumbai Indians went off the flyer as the opening pair for skipper Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan smashed DC bowlers all over the park for their 67 runs stand. The introduction of Kuldeep Yadav into the attack put five-time champions into trouble as he removed well-set Rohit (41) and followed it with a wicket of Anmolpreet Singh (8).

Young Tilak Varma played a cameo of 22 runs and a brutal finish by Ishan Kishan (81*) propelled Mumbai Indians to a total of 177 runs. For DC, Kuldeep Yadav (3/18) and Khaleel Ahmed (2/27) were the picks of the bowlers as they took 5 wickets between to curtail the brutal start of the Rohit Sharma-led side was off.

Chasing the target, Delhi Capitals openers Tim Seifert and Prithvi Shaw came out all guns blazing and scored 30 runs in the first three overs. However, after that, Murugan Ashwin brought his side back into the game and took two wickets in the same over. After that Tymal Mills and Basil Thampi chipped in too and left DC tumbling at 72/5. It almost seemed that Mumbai would pave their way into an easy victory but the likes of Shardul Thakur, Lalit Yadav and Axar Patel kept the Rishabh Pant-led side in hunt and a brutal 75-run partnership between Yadav (48*) and Patel (38*)in the end made sure that they win the match from the jaws of defeat.

Delhi Capitals leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav was awarded Player of the Match in the match against Mumbai Indians. The leg-spinner bowled a sensational spell and took three wickets, in what was his comeback game. When he came into the attack, MI was scoring runs at a high rate. He, however, made the opposition batters look clueless. He drew the first blood for his side in well-set Rohit Sharma and then removed Anmolpreet Singh. If this was not enough he then sent dangerous Kieron Pollard back in the hut and conceded just 18 runs in his spell.
