Anderson Hurts Himself as Broad Has A Hearty Laugh

JIMMY HITS HIMSELF AT GOLF COURSE
James Anderson is known all over the world for his wreaking havoc with swing but the England bowler was wincing after hitting himself on the golf course on Sunday.

Anderson’s excellence with ball in hand helped England beat India by 31 runs in the first Test at Edgbaston on Saturday.

While Anderson was rarely seen bowling duck and weave short deliveries in his prestigious cricket career,
there was no way England’s leading Test wicket-taker could escape it when his iron shot struck a tree stump before flying up and hitting him square in the face.

JIMMY IS ALL WELL: BROAD
Broad revealed that Anderson emerged safe, although he will no doubt be more than a little awkward after proving his golfing skills are nowhere near to being at par as with his bowling.

James Anderson is considered as one of the best commanders of swing bowling in world cricket, however, the English pacer’s golf swing left a lot to be desired. After England’s win over India in the first Test at Edgbaston, Anderson along with teammate Stuart Broad was seen enjoying a round of golf on their off-day. But things didn’t go as planned for Anderson after the pacer struck the ball off of a tree and onto his face, much to the entertainment of Broad who posted a video of the incident.

According to reports in the British media, the England duo were playing golf at the swish 27-hole Stoke Park golf course in Buckinghamshire.

Thankfully, it didn’t lead to a serious injury with Broad confirming the news.

The England team are currently enjoying some time-out, following their first test win in this series over India.

Anderson took four wickets over the two innings as the hosts displayed a thrilling 31-run win over India in the first match of the five-Test series.

SECOND TEST MATCH STARTS FROM AUGUST 9 AT LORD’S
England will meet India in the second Test at Lord’s starting August 9 but the hosts will be without Edgbaston hero Ben Stokes, who faces a court hearing this coming week in Bristol.

Meanwhile, left-hander Dawid Malan has been taken out from the England squad for the Lord’s Test with Ollie Pope included. All-rounder Chris Woakes has been named as Stokes’ replacement.
