Jasprit Bumrah is breathing fire at Southampton in England this morning. After delivering a ripper to Keaton Jennings, Bumrah found the outside edge of Jonny Bairstow to leave England at three wickets down for 28 runs after the hosts won the toss and elected to bat first.

But this highly impressive and surreal performance by Bumrah wasn’t a ‘ perfect show’.There was a moment of despair during the pace bowler’s incredible show as his old habit sprung up to spoil the morning. Bumrah got Joe Root right in front of the stumps and the England captain was sure to fall to leg before wicket dismissal only for the TV replays to show that the Indian bowler had over-stepped.

The no-ball brought back bitter memories of past instances when Bumrah’s no-ball costed India heavily. In the ICC champions trophy finals, Bumrah’s no-ball saved Fakhar Zaman who went on to score a hundred while in the last Test Adil Rashid got a reprieve.

Fans and cricket analysts soon turned to Twitter to voice their opinion on Bumrah’s old habit that fortunately didn’ cost India much today as 14 balls later, Root was once again trapped in front of the stumps by Ishant Sharma and this time on a legitimate delivery.

Harsha Bhogle raised his concerns on Twitter with this tweet.

Former Indian cricketer Akash Chopra too offered his opinion.

The anger and frustration were evident from the reactions of the fans as well.

Some fans though saw the lighter side of the things and connected some dots to make a bigger picture.

And then there were some who stood behind Bumrah during his bad times!

Some went one step ahead (This is exactly what Bumrah does while bowling) and guessed Bumrah is thinking now. Yeah, Telepathy exists!

Well, as they say, time and Twitter spares no one! Bumrah, unfortunately, is learning it the hard way.
