KULDEEP’S WRIST ACTION IS VERY COMPLEX

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar is of the opinion that the young wrist spinner, Kuldeep Yadav can still perform well if the England team prepares dry surfaces for the upcoming five-Test series against India, starting August 1.

“From what I saw on the TV, Root picked Kuldeep’s wrist action very quickly and really well. Actually, Kuldeep’s wrist action is very complex. I don’t think many batsmen in world cricket have got the ability to tackle him off the pitch”, said Tendulkar.

THERE’S NOTHING TO BE AFRAID OF: TENDULKAR
When asked if the Indian team should be threatened by English players, the legend begged to differ.

“The kind of whether presently in England, with the sun baking the pitches, Kuldeep should be bowling very well as well as other Indian spinners. If the pitches remain flat and dry like the ones during the T20 series, it would prove good for India. But if it’s a green top, obviously, the England seamers will come into play,” he said.

BHUVI’S INJURY IS A SETBACK:

When questioned on Bhuvneshwar Kumar missing this test series, the legend said,“Bhuvi’s injury (stiff back) is a real loss for India. Over the years,he has evolved himself at a level that you expect a certain kind of performance from him. And let’s not forget those runs that Bhuvi scored in England during the last series (2014). He is a decent batsman too. But then, I am of the firm opinion that we still have a lot of quality bowlers in our pace department like Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Shardul Thakur.”

When asked about the effect on the team and particularly skipper Virat Kohli, Tendulkar said,“What I am trying to imply is that you might just get the best out of your resources in adverse conditions. Just because you don’t have certain key players in your team, it doesn’t mean that you will have a certain kind of result.”, Tendulkar said.

THE ENTIRE SQUAD SHOULD PERFORM WELL

“Kohli’s 2014 performance has no link with how he would perform in the upcoming series. And it’s not just about his performance. If you ask me, if I am really hopeful of a good show from Virat, my answer would be “Why only Virat? I am hopeful of a good performance from the entire Indian squad. It’s the team that needs to emerge victorious,” Tendulkar concluded.
