Star Windies spinner to miss starting games of PSL

Windies spin bowler Sunil Narine will miss the starting few games of Pakistan Premier League due to an injury to his finger. The date of his return isn’t confirmed yet and Quetta Gladiators have added Max Waller in the squad as a replacement for the mystery spinner.

Narine’s injury a blow for Gladiators admits Moin Khan

Moin Khan the coach of Gladiators stated that Narine’s injury is a blow just before the start of PSL but they  will try to cope with it.

He noted that they have got the depth in their squad as there are plenty other match-winners. He said that they wish Narine a quick recovery and hope to welcome him very soon during HBL PSL.

Narine has remained a stand-out performer in T20 format. His mystery spin makes him difficult to score off and hence he is highly economical in the shortest format of the game.

The Windies player in the recent times has also enjoyed success while batting at the top of the order. He is known for scoring at a brisk pace in the Powerplay overs which makes him a crucial player in any T20 contest.

Narine has picked 360 wickets in 309 T20 innings and has an impressive economy rate of 5.96. He has also scored 1973 runs at a strike-rate of 146.47.

 

Waller to replace Narine in PSL

Quetta Gladiators have roped in England leg spinner Max Waller in the squad as a cover for the injured Windies spinner. Waller has featured in 111 T20s and has claimed 111 wickets.

Moin Khan admitted that obviously, you cannot like for like replacement of a big player like Narine but they have drafted in Waller and they are confident that he will add value to their team.
