Virat Kohli is unique among Indian greats, says Manjrekar
Former Indian International and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar was asked about rating Virat Kohli as a batsman then what he said is something which created buzz. Sanjay was asked in an interview about Virat as a batsman he told, Virat is a great talent, and he is not only a great batsman, but he has a special place even in Indian greats.
Manjrekar took part in a debate with David Richardson (The Chief Executive of International Cricket Council), Jason Roy (English Batsman), Mark Nicolas (Former Hampshire cricketer, Broadcaster).
Sanjay presented his view on Virat by calling him a special Indian great. He also took an example of Indian water. He said people talk about the contaminated water of Benaras but generation after generation that Indian water gave us many great players.
Manjrekar expressed his view by saying, Sunil Gavaskar took retirement in 1987, just after two years we got Sachin and then comes Virat, and he is special among them.
Even in the MRF Tyres ICC Test Rankings, Virat Kohli became No.1 Test Batsman after adding crucial runs on the scorecard; he scored 149 and 51 in both of his innings in the first Test played at Edgbaston still India lost by 31-runs. He managed to score only 134 runs in Five Test But after four years, He overcome the fault in his technique and scored a flamboyant 200 runs in Birmingham Test. He was looking like a lone warrior. Sanjay said, he is an accurate illustration of Self-Belief, he is the biggest asset of the Indian cricket. Sanjay was backed by Jason Roy, but he said, “We are not scared of him”.
