Starc bowls de Kock

The South Africans have started the ODI series on a bright note after being undone by the Australians in the T20I format which they lost 2-1. In the 1st ODI, the Proteas dominated the mighty Australians which many wouldn’t have expected it.

The Australians are playing their A side and them surrendered to a fairly inexperienced South African side led by Quinton de Kock is the last thing that the Aussies would have wanted. They would want to win the ongoing 2nd ODI to keep the 3 match ODI series alive.

Fuller ball troubling Quinton de Kock

The Aussies have one of the best exponents of Yorker in Mitchell Starc in their team. He can execute yorkers for fun irrespective of the situation of the game. Traditionally bowlers will look to give the ball more time in the air and might look to exploit the early movement with the new ball if there is anything on offer.

The South Africans faced a huge blow early in their innings chasing a tricky target of 272 runs when their captain Quinton de Kock was undone by another fuller length delivery and got out for the 2nd time in as many games.

Steve Smith failed again!

The whole world knows how good a batsman Steve Smith is in test cricket but he is also not far too behind in the limited overs as well. But he has had 2 back to back disappointing outings in the ongoing ODI series against South Africans.

After the brisk start from David Warner and Aaron Finch, it was expected that the likes of Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne would play a really long innings and bat the Proteas out of the game but both of them fell on consecutive deliveries that dented the Australia’s final total big time.

The Aussies finished with 271 runs with their captain Aaron Finch and D’arcy Short top scoring with 69 apiece.
