Oshane Thomas has been named in the Windies Test squad for the second Test against England in Antigua. The 21-year-old is in line to make his Test debut.
According to Windies chairman of selectors Courtney Browne, “Oshane Thomas was with us in Barbados as cover and he has been added to the squad as the 14th player and will remain with the team as an additional fast bowler.”
Thomas has been a part Windies’ white-ball unit for the last couple of series. The fast bowler has made 10 appearances for Windies in the limited-over formats and has snared 11 wickets so far.
The Windies took a 1-0 lead with a 381-run mauling of the visitors. The hosts put on a dominant show in Barbados, both with the bat and ball. Skipper Jason Holder scored his maiden Test double ton in front of his home crowd to lead the charge.
“We were all extremely happy with the great result in the first Test. We want to see them put in another solid performance in the second match in Antigua, where we won last year,” said Courtney Browne.
