PBKS Playing 11: Punjab Kings will kick off their IPL 2022 campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai on March 27, Sunday. The Kings have reached playoffs only 2 times (2008 and 2014) in IPL history and will be hoping to lift their maiden trophy under a new leader in Mayank Agarwal. They finished at the sixth spot in the last edition and it will be interesting to watch if the change in captain along with a new squad brings some change in fortune or not.
Punjab Kings retained 2 players, Mayank Agarwal and Arshdeep Singh ahead of the IPL 2022 Auction after failing to strike a deal with KL Rahul. However, they have done a commendable job by signing Shikhar Dhawan at the top to fill in the opening gap created by KL Rahul.
In the middle order, Punjab Kings have Prabhsimran Singh and Liam Livingstone followed by Indian domestic sensation Shahrukh Khan who can take on any bowling attack on a given day. Jonny Bairstow is currently on national duty and won’t be available for the opening game.
Punjab Kings bowling attack too longs potent with the likes of Kagiso Rabada, Arshdeep Singh, Rahul Chahar, and Sandeep Sharma.
