Herwadkar has scored 101 runs in three innings. Lalwani has been picked due to his two back-to-back centuries in Mumbai under 23 team. In three games, Mumbai has faced 1 defeat while the previous two encounters ended in a draw.

On the opposite, Maharashtra also faced 7 wickets defeat against Karnataka in their last encounter after the first two fixtures ended at a draw. Led by Rahul Tripathi, Maharashtra posted 113 and 256 in two innings while Karnataka scored 186 and 184/3 to clinch 7 wickets win on the last day.
