What is the story?

INR 49 for one seat equal to a fan-flooded stadium, this is what Delhi Dynamos have calculated to make the pocket-friendly experience for the fans of ISL in the capital city. Delhi Dynamos’ club director Rohan Sharma told the reporters after announcing the rate list,

“Watching matches live from the stadium is something which every football fan wants to experience and we want everyone to fulfil their desire in a budgeted way.”

The club director added about the city that it welcomes the student from all over India and those students cannot spend much on the tickets. This led to the idea of affordable rates. Meanwhile, VIP seats have seen the jaw-dropping deflation in the price of INR 249 only.

Basically, the idea is to welcome more and more fans in the stadium which will increase the fandom of football as Indian people are used to with cricket, but they don’t really understand the aura of a football ground during live matches.

…And the idea came from

In fact, this Idea was taken from the biggest opportunity that Indian football ever had, U-17 FIFA World Cup.  The event committee decided the rates of the tickets starting from rupees 40 only, and the VIP seats started from 320. This idea became a successful way to get the maximum crowd from the city. FIFA Under-17 witnessed record-breaking 100,000 people as an audience in New Delhi only. Maybe, this ‘success’ led Delhi Dynamos to take that strategy.

What’s next?

Delhi Dynamos will open their campaign against FC Pune City on 3rd October 2018 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi (Which is the home ground of the team).

The season five of the ISL will kick-off from 29 September and the opening day will see the two times champion ATK locking horns with two times ISL finalist Kerala Blasters FC at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata.
