MUN vs LIV PREMIER LEAGUE FOOTBALL MATCH PREDICTION- TEAM NEWS

Manchester United vs Liverpool

Premier League

MUN VS LIV MATCH PREVIEW:

Arguably the biggest game in English football and an English version of El Clasico, it’s Manchester United vs Liverpool and the stakes couldn’t be higher as a 2nd place, behind the champions-elect Manchester City, is up for grabs in this 200th fixture of the North-West derby.

Not since the 2008-09 season that both teams had a decent league campaign, or were in the top-4 when these two giants of English football locked horns. Jose Mourinho may be playing down the importance of this fixture by claiming it to be just another match, but he said the same thing before the Chelsea game and labeled the game against Liverpool as the ultimate match that fans always love to talk. So our advice is don’t go by his words, he is a cunning and a top manager. He knows how to enter an opposition manager’s mind. And we are all aware how important this fixture is for both the teams because bragging rights are something that is priceless.

Manchester United’s last game against Crystal Palace reminded every fan about the Fergie-time. The Red Devils found themselves 0-2 down after the start of the 2nd half. But just as a United team used to do under Alex Ferguson, this team didn’t give up and it was really a deja-vu moment when Nemanja Matic thumped in a long-range missile into the net.

This game came after Mourinho’s team earned a late win against Chelsea. So Liverpool should be wary about United’s recently-found never-give-up attitude.

Liverpool, on the other hand, are all about attack and attack. They have already scored more than 100 goals in this campaign, and in the Premier League, they have scored a massive 67 goals which is 11 more than United’s 56 goals.

But since the capture of Virgil Van Dijk, the Reds have shown some improvement in defense. Loris Karius’s form is also a big factor as Liverpool have kept five clean sheets in their last six games.

So the game could be decided by which team makes less mistake and soak-in the atmosphere earlier than their opponent.

MUN vs LIV TEAM NEWS:

Manchester United:

Jose Mourinho employed 4-2-2-2 formation against Chelsea and the tactics worked as United’s midfield outplayed Kante and Company in that match. We are expecting a more pragmatic approach from the former Real Madrid man as his team’s chances of winning the match depend on not allowing a continuous service to Liverpool’s front three.

Talking about the team, Paul Pogba gave Mourinho an injury scare after injuring himself in the training but is expected to feature in this clash.

While the home team will certainly be without the services of Ander Herrera, Marcos Rojo, Anthony Martial, Phil Jones and Daley Blind. So our advise, not to include them in your fantasy XI.

Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ivory Coast center-back Eric Bailly are fit enough for a full return.

Marouane Fellaini is available again after injury kept him out last month.

PROBABLE XI

De Gea (GK); Valencia, Bailly, Smalling, Young; McTominay, Matic, Pogba; Lingard, Lukaku, Alexis

Liverpool:

Liverpool will definitely play the front trio of Firmino, Salah, and Mane who have destroyed every defense in the Premier League so far.

Skipper Jordan Henderson suffered a dead-leg against Porto in the Champions League but has trained. So he is expected to lead the line for the Reds.

Robertson (knock) and Wijnaldum (illness), who both missed that European game, are fit to feature. But the game will come too soon for Wijnaldum, so Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will return to the starting XI after being rested against Porto in the week.

PROBABLE XI

Karius (GK); Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Henderson, Can; Salah, Firmino, Mane

  2. Liverpool have lost more times against Manchester United than any other side, Loss- 67.
  3. If this game ends in a draw, it will be the first time in the history of this fixture that four consecutive games ended in draws.
  4. Liverpool are league’s top scorer when it comes to away matches- Games- 14, Goals- 34.
  5. Romelu Lukaku may become the 5th youngest player to score 100 goals if he scores against Liverpool.
  6. The North-West derby has witnessed 16 red cards in Premier League. Only Merseyside derby (21) has earned more red cards.

INDIA FANTASY PREDICTION:

Liverpool are the entertainers but they are coming against Jose Mourinho who knows how to make things boring and earn a favorable outcome by doing that. Red Devils are also not accustomed to concede goals in home matches, so we are expecting a dogfight in this match. But the prediction is still a tough nut to crack. A 1-1 draw would do justice to all the stats-
