Personal Life

Born along the banks of Rapti river in Gorakhpur, Sanjay’ family was financially really weak. His father Ramshingh was a daily-wage painter while his mother Maya Devi is a homemaker. Sanjay along with his younger brother Sonu started playing tennis-ball cricket n school, but with the family’s financial crisis both were willing to give up the sport which they love from childhood.

On day Sanjay’s school PT teacher who is now a mentor of him, spotted Sanjay playing and offered to train them in his Future India Cricket Academy at Hour, but they didn’t attend the academy for 6 months. Premnath again approached them, and in reply to his teacher, Sanjay said: “kassu illa” (I don’t have money). He then allowed the brothers to train and practice for free in addition to taking care of all their cricket expenses.
