Kagiso Rabada who has remained out of cricket action for the last three months is all set to wear the Protea jersey again as South Africa head to Sri Lanka for taking on the hosts in the first Test.
Injured Rabada had also missed the IPL but now he would be returning to his national squad after fully recovering from the lower back injury he had sustained in April.
Kagiso Rabada hadn’t played since South Africa defeated Australia by 3-1 in the Test Series.
South Africa would be pitted against Sri Lanka in the first Test scheduled to be held on 12 July, Thursday in Galle.
“I am feeling good now,” he said after the warm-up match between Sri Lanka Board XI and South Africa.
All is well: Rabada
“I have been bowling some long spells in the nets, I bowled again, so all is well,” he added.
The No.1 bowler in the ICC Test Player Rankings, Rabada also said, “A stress reaction shouldn’t hold me back, it is very common in bowlers.”
The 23-year old would be playing in Sri Lanka for the first time.

His only overseas trip with the Test team was in 2015 when he had travelled to India. He had played three of the four Tests where South Africa had lost by 3-0.
“We are playing on the sub-continent. These conditions make it difficult for seamers. I want to contribute wherever I play. The role I will have here would be different than what I had when were playing back in home, I will try my best to fulfil the role,” he said.
“You need to take wickets differently as there is not much pace.”
Rabada picked 23 wickets against Australia to take his Test tally for the year up to 38, in 2018.
“Past experience lifts your confidence and it also gives you an extra belief, I am now focusing on what I can do in the series.”
