GT Playing 11: The two newly added franchises – Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants will begin their IPL campaign on 28th March, Monday at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Led by Hardik Pandya, Gujarat Titans are placed in Group B alongside Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, Chennai Super Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Gujarat Titans picked up Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, and Shubman Gill as three draft players and have a balanced squad. They have power-hitters in Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Vijay Shankar, Matthew Wade, and David Miller and a potent bowling attack in the likes of Mohammad Shami, Lockie Ferguson, and Afghan spin maestro Rashid Khan.
The Titans suffered a big blow when Jason Roy opted out of the tournament but the franchise seems to have done a good deal in signing Rahmanullah Gurbaz as the replacement.
It will be interesting to watch how both the new teams perform in the opening clash and Gujarat Titans’ batting, as well as bowling line-up, clicks there’s no doubt they can spring a surprise.
