Virat Kohli became only the third Indian Cricketer ever to appear on Forbes list of richest athletes after master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and Captain Cool MS Dhoni.

BCCI Contract:

Virat Kohli is tied up to BCCI with grade A contracts, usually given to first teamers. After BCCI hiked it’s fees for first teamers by introducing a new grade of A+ Virat Kohli makes Rs. 7 crore per year. Forbes has accounted this as $1.5 million.

IPL Contract:

IPL is undoubtedly the money league. Virat has been at RCB all his time in the IPL. That means RCB have to pay a hefty retention package for him. According to Forbes, the figure was at $2.5 million this season.

Endorsements:

Endorsements are a very big source of income for any sportsman and Virat Kohli’s numbers show nothing different. Virat Kohli earns $20 million according to Forbes’ list. Kohli is the 15th highest earner if only endorsements are considered. Kohli represents brands like Manyavar and is an Adidas athlete. Recently he also appeared alongside Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in an American Tourister advertisement.
